Giving Thanks

Posted Nov 25, 2014

The beginning of the holiday season seems the perfect time of year to say thank you to the many groups and organizations that contribute to the Library’s successful events.

First of all, we must thank the Friends of the Library for their on-going support of library programs. They fund the summer reading programs and Summer Celebration, as well as other special events and collections like our Lucky Day books. A huge thank you goes out to TAB (Teen Advisory Board). TAB members can be seen helping out with activities at the Summer Celebration, Halloween Happening, and Seuss Celebration. They also help with behind-the-scenes projects like putting together summer reading reward packets. It’s no exaggeration to say we couldn’t pull off some of our big programs without them. Another thank you goes out to the Shorewood Woman’s Club. Those hardworking dedicated ladies have been serving sundaes at the Summer Celebration for over a decade.

We can’t forget our community business partners.  Culvers’ of Shorewood works with us on the Summer Celebration, Summer Reading Programs, and other events throughout the year. Boswell Book Company makes our fantastic author visits possible, as well as, providing reward coupons for our summer readers.  A number of other businesses also donate to our programs including Nehring’s Sendiks, City Market, Chocolate Factory, Falbo Bros. Pizza, Garden Room (now Mod Gen), North Shore Boulangerie, Vedo’s Pizza, and Yo Mama Frozen Yogurt. A big thanks to all of them.

Finally, we want to thank all the participants who attend our events and make them so successful.  We look forward to continuing our strong community relationships in the new year.
