Spring Break @ The Library

Posted Mar 31, 2015

Spring may be playing hide and seek with us, but it’s out there somewhere. It is leaving a few clues  - later sunsets, singing birds, a splattering of crocuses, and breaks from school.

To ensure that spring break time doesn’t turn into spring boredom time, stop in at the library to stock up on vacation supplies. We have recreational reading for all ages – yes, even you mom and dad. Check out the latest good reads in our New Book areas. Looking for a more interactive reading experience? We have plenty of how-to books for crafting, drawing, science and other maker activities. You can also help your kids discover the simple pleasures of outdoor play with one of our many game/activity books.

For your viewing pleasure, we have a large collection of dvds for all ages.  Whether you enjoy the latest Pixar creations, classic Disney, or award winners you’ll find a something worth watching on our shelves. All children’s dvds check out for 7 days – enough time to get through the school break. (FYI – Adult dvds that have been out longer than a year and tv series now check out for 7 days. Newer popular dvds still have a 3 day checkout.)

If spring break is a holiday time for your family, we have Passover and Easter books on display.

Not all of the library goodies are “carry out” only. There is plenty to keep the kiddos occupied while in the library including computers, board games, drawing supplies, activity sheets, train sets, and of course, PLAY LEARN GROW, the hands on early learning activity area for babies through kindergarterners.

If you are hitting the road in search of greener (and warmer) pastures, a collection of audiobooks and music cds can make travel more enjoyable. We have books on cd and the mp3 Playaway format. Audiobooks are also available to download through the Wisconsin Digital Library.

Whatever your plans  - Happy Spring!!!!
