Summer Programs Have Started

Posted Jun 17, 2014

School is out! We are all ready for some hot fun in the summertime! Shorewood Library has plenty of that on tap. The library’s summer programs have started and we have something for all ages. Best of all – it’s free and there’s no need to sign up. Just show up.

Terrific Tuesdays kick off with one of our favorite performers, magician Rick Allen. The grand finale of Rick’s incredible show is a levitation. One of our audience members will float in mid-air. In the coming weeks, you can enjoy Ton Ko-Thi African dancers and drummers, the Milwaukee Dog Training Club, Bubble-ology, KidsPlay Theater, and Pint Size Polka. All ages are welcome – even grown-ups without kids. Terrific Tuesdays start at 2:30 p.m..

Wednesdays will be transformed into Tweensdays when the clock strikes 1 p.m.. Kids in grades 4 – 7 can be part of a Minecraft Meetup, Game Day, and Spa Science.

Thursday Summer Storytimes start at 10 a.m.. We will share a few stories and songs and make a take-home craft. Summer Storytimes are geared toward kids, ages 2 – 5 years. We also have some extra special Thursday happenings including Tales and Trails Storytellers (June 19, 7 p.m.), Tie Dye Day (June 26, 2:30 p.m.), Red, White & Blue Craft Day (July 3, 2:30 p.m.), Lego Club (June 19, July 17, August 14 – 4 – 6:30 p.m.) Our annual Summer Celebration will also be held on Thursday this year. July 24, 6 – 8 p.m. you are invited to the summer’s best party with music, trolley rides, Culver’s sundae bar, balloons, face painting, and games.

It may seem like “T” is our favorite calendar letter, but we don’t discriminate. Monday is the day for our monthly Pop In and Play sessions and the Living Wall garden event. Teens can also enjoy some Random Fandom Fridays.

Check out our events calendar for more information and to find out what’s happening this week.
