Do you ever wonder what you’re neighbors are reading? Well, here’s a few examples from our winter reading program just for adults: Booked All Winter. There’s still time to participate; submit entries through March 13th to win fabulous prizes!

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
A mystery that holds your attention until the very end. It reminded me of Gone Girl in that it uncovers, not necessarily clues, but characters’ secrets up until the very end.

Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
This amazingly written novel chronicles the Greek, then American Stephanides family through the 20th century. The main character, Calliope, is from a line of family that are “middle sex.” Not for nothing did this novel win the Pulitzer Prize- its treatment of sexuality, race, and immigration is profound.

The Orphan Master’s Son by Adam Johnson
I loved this saga of a North Korean young man whose character develops over time as a result of incredible hardships and experiences.

Soundless is a lovely coming of age story of a girl who dreams a way to save her village. When the village’s way of life comes to an end she finds the strength to help them forge a new way of life. There is adventure, danger, and just a drop of romance. It is a great fantasy read for anyone who dreams of a world full of color and sound.
