Our New Roster

Posted Aug 26, 2014

Recently we've said goodbye to some great Library team members. Not to imply that these great folks are easy to replace and won't be missed, but we have had to add some new team members to keep the library running smoothly. Let us introduce you to our new(ish) staff.

We recently added a new librarian position to better-serve the Shorewood community.  Hayley Johnson, our new Community & Adult Services Librarian, comes to us from Milwaukee Public Library. Hayley is tasked with reaching out to Shorewood to ensure we are serving you as well as possible. She will be planning programs, working on updating the library collection, and will be at the reference desk a whole bunch, too. She's got book recommendations galore. You'll see a lot of her - and we think you'll like her!

Some of you may know, our Assistant Director Joe Rice recently left to become the Director at North Shore Library. Young Adult & Social Media Librarian, Emily Passey, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Director. She will still lead the Library's online presence, but will now be in charge of the circulation staff and overseeing some larger projects around the library. Until a new teen librarian is found, Emily will also continue to plan teen programs and run the Teen Advisory Board.

You'll also see some new friendly faces at the front desk and pushing the big red carts full of books. With many of our beloved staff moving on to new beginnings - retirement, college - we've switched some people from behind-the-scenes to front-and-center, and hired some new folks to shelve books.
