Tax season is here.

If you're ready to prepare your 2015 taxes, we are here to help with a multitude of resources!

Tax Forms

Shorewood Library receives state forms from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue and federal forms from the IRS. These are free to us, and free to you. However, in recent years both the IRS and the state of Wisconsin have reduced what they print and make available to libraries for distribution. 

Here are the forms we have this year:

Wisconsin: Form 1, Form 1A, WI-Z, Form 1 NPR (Non-resident or Partial Resident), Schedule WD (Capital Gaines & Losses) and Schedule H (Homestead Credit), including Rent Certificate. We also offer the instructions for each of these forms.

Federal: 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ. Limited instruction booklets available.

24 Computers, the Internet and 2 printers

While many tax forms aren't readily available for you at the library, all tax forms - including those from past years - are available online. This year, we are offering a designated computer with free (yes, free!) printing capabilities for you to access any Wisconsin or federal form you need. It's available on a first come, first served basis.

Need a form from another state? A librarian can assist you by printing it for free from our reference computer, or adding "free" printing money to your account so you can print from a public computer yourself.

Additionally, our staff of librarians and tech-savvy clerks can help you access e-filing online on our public computers. Because our computers have a time limit of two hours per day, we recommend coming prepared if you plan to use our computers to e-file your taxes.

Finally, you can have any and all tax forms mailed to you at no cost. We can assist you in accessing this option via the IRS and WI Department of Revenue websites.

Preparation Assistance Resources

The Senior Resource Center will partner once again with AARP volunteers to provide tax preparation assistance at no cost to anyone who needs it. Volunteers will be in the Village Center Meeting Rooms (below library) every Thursday beginning February 4, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. They are available on a first come, first served basis.
