Time for our annual check-up

Posted Sep 22, 2015

Each year around this time, public libraries state- and nationwide are ranked based on several key indicators such as circulation and library visits. Shorewood Public Library is excited to announce some fun facts based on the first round of available data, made possible by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Public Library Development team's annual survey of Wisconsin public libraries. The 2014 data has been crunched, and here's how we stack up:

And there's more!

  • You use e-content: we rank in the top five in use of downloadable e-content (e-books, audiobooks, and magazines) both for kids and adults
  • You are not all from Shorewood: we have the highest circulation of materials to non-residents
  • You also like kids books: we rank in the top five in circulation of children's material
  • 2014 was a great year for new library users: number of library cards, the total number of library card holders increased 8.8% over 2013

We are so lucky to have such a supportive community - both of Shorewood residents, and of people from other cities who choose to use the Shorewood Library. Your love of the library is evident when looking at these numbers.

Are we serving you well? These numbers are just numbers: we rely on daily personal interaction with all of you to truly measure our worth. We especially like to hear from you if you have an opinion, or an idea, about the library service here at Shorewood. Tell us!
