1000 Books Before Kindergarten

“The single most important activity for building the knowledge required for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children ” –Commission on Reading, Department of Education

Children who experience 1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN are on a solid path to lifelong learning. Research shows one of the best predictors of school success is the number of words and books children are exposed to, before they start school. It's never to early to start reading to children. Even babies benefit from books. Reading to young children builds important early literacy skills, as well as aiding emotional and social development. It can also be a special bonding time. Each time you share a book with a child, you are giving them the gift of language, art, and your time and attention.
