Our Fizz, Boom, Read Summer is winding down. By all measures, it was a success. Since this year’s summer library theme had a strong STEM element, we thought we should take a look at the numbers. It all adds up to have been a super summer.
Altogether, more than 823 kids participated in the Children’s Reading program – 670 Readers and 153 “Read-to-Mes” and Tots. Nearly half, 404 kids, completed their reading folders and claimed their prizes and coupon packets – great motivators. Approximately 1500 people enjoyed our Terrific Tuesdays, storytimes, craft events, and other programs. More than 800 people attended our Summer Celebration. Over 32,000 items were checked out from the Children’s Collection. The numbers were equally impressive for the Teen Programs. Whatever way you count it, it was a spectacular summer.
Now, we are getting ready for fall fun including storytimes, Special Saturdays, Lego Club, our annual Halloween Happening, and the opening of our early literacy center. Check back for our complete fall/winter program schedule.
