Library Services While we are Closed

Shorewood Public Library is closed, with an anticipated re-opening date of Monday, May 4.

We are continuing to keep a close eye on things. Should our re-opening date change, we will announce it to you as early as possible.

You can get limited assistance via email by emailing us at shorewood@mcfls.org. Our librarian team will answer you within two days.

If you need more immediate assistance, Milwaukee Public Library and Milwaukee County Federated Library System staff can help you.

Milwaukee Public Library's Ready Reference service

MPL staff can help you access your library card number, reset your PIN, get a new temporary card to use digital services, and access the digital services provided by MPL, MCFLS, and/or your home library (Shorewood, or whatever that may be).

Telephone, chat and email service is available 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. There will be no telephone, chat and email service available on the weekends.

MPL is Milwaukee County's Resource Library. We are incredibly grateful to their leadership and staff at every level for being able to provide some county-wide library assistance while the rest of us are unable to do so. 

MCFLS assistance

MCFLS staff can help you access your library card number, reset your PIN, get a new temporary card to use digital services, and access the digital services provided by MPL, MCFLS, and/or your home library (Shorewood, or whatever that may be).

Milwaukee County Federated Library System staff are working remotely. They keep libraries connected to the Internet and keep our database of library patrons and library materials operational. They are working to ensure that things can go back to normal when we reopen.

Get a Virtual Library Card

If you don't have a library card, you can get a temporary virtual card! This will allow you to use the library's many digital resources.
