It's a season of celebrations! Weddings, graduations - both promise to keep you busy this month. Whether you're planning one or planning to attend one ceremony or ten, you won't want to miss some of the new books we've got for the grad and for the attendee and/or bride.
Save the Date: The Occasional Mortifications of a Serial Wedding Guest by Jen Doll
Every wedding is a story, even for the guests. Doll captures a lifetime of wedding attendance - from early days to the ones attended in her tumultuous twenties & thirties. They aren't all perfect, although as Doll relates, every wedding weekend holds the hope of love. Funny and down to earth, it's primarily perfect for fans of Sex and The City and/or Girls, but could certainly be appreciated by older women (and men - why not!) who've "been there" as well.
Emily Post's Wedding Etiquette by Anna Post & Lizzie Post
The (capital T-H-E) master of all things etiquette is back in this newly revised 6th edition of her classic book of wedding-specific etiquette. Completely updated by Post's granddaughters to include all modern-day etiquette conundrums, this is a must read whether you're the bride, the groom, the family, or just a constant guest like Jen Doll!
Schwarzenegger pulls in comments, thoughts and essays from such notable successes as Anderson Cooper, Jillian Michaels, Serena Williams and her dad, Arnold (yes, that Arnold). The stories ring true and will offer some measure of comfort - and an injection of honest humor - for recent grads from high school or college. They are also fun to read for those of us reminiscing about the long-ago time when we, too, had just graduated.
Lean In for Graduates by Sheryl Sandberg
This edition of Sandberg's blockbuster book from last year has been expanded and updated to suit readers who are recent graduates. Sandberg includes new chapters on finding a first job, negotiating your salary and more that is tailor-made to answer the questions grads have about what the future holds.
