The mission of the Friends, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is to provide financial and volunteer support to the Shorewood Public Library. As an advocate for the library, the Friends strives to ensure that it remains a vital and essential part of village life.

|Friends Book Sale||
Donate your gently used books and media to our in-library and eBay book sales.
|Membership Dues & Donations||
Become a Friend or renew your membership today. Volunteer time, donate money, or both. We appreciate your support.
|Memorials & Tributes Giving||Pay tribute to family members and friends by noting important occasions in their lives such as birthdays and anniversaries with personalized bookplates inside new library books.|
|Amazon Smile||Designate Friends of the Shorewood Public Library as your charity of choice at amazon.smile.com. At no cost to you, 0.5% of whatever you spend is donated to our library! You only need to register once.|
What We DO
- Volunteer at the library through the Adopt-A-Shelf program and/or assist at major events.
- Fund the library’s Lucky Day collection, BookPage subscription, and collections of travel books, foreign language fiction, and high-demand DVDs of popular television series.
- Underwrite 57% of the library’s programming costs, including reading programs for children and adults, Shakespeare in Shorewood, Summer Celebration, visiting lecturers, and Shorewood Reads.
- Support the library’s regionally renowned Early Literacy Center.
