Hands Only CPR and AED Workshop

Thursday, November 29

6:00 pm

Location: Shorewood Village Center

Did you know that cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can more than double a person's chances of survival?  Learn how to save a life with the new hands-only CPR method! Dave Glanz, a firefighter with North Shore Fire and Rescue, will facilitate the hands-only CPR training. He will also give instruction on how to use the automated external defibrillator (AED).  AEDs are lightweight, portable devices that deliver an electric shock through the chest to the heart. The shock can stop an irregular heart rhythm and allow a normal rhythm to resume following sudden cardiac arrest. These devices are often found in public places, including airports, arenas, and the public library.  Learn how to save a life with two basic steps.

Please note that this workshop is NOT a certification course.

The Hands Only CPR and AED Workshop is limited to 30 participants, and registration is strongly encouraged. Please register using the online form below, calling the Shorewood Public Library at 414 847-2670, or in person at the information desk.
