Friends of the Shorewood Public Library
The mission of the Friends, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is to provide financial and volunteer support to the Shorewood Public Library. As an advocate for the library, the Friends strives to ensure that it remains a vital and essential part of village life.

Your donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. Thank you for supporting our library.
What We Do:
- Volunteer at the library through the Adopt-A-Shelf program and/or assist at major events.
- Fund the library’s Lucky Day collection, BookPage subscription, and collections of travel books, foreign language fiction, and high-demand DVDs of popular television series.
- Underwrite 57% of the library’s programming costs, including reading programs for children and adults, Shakespeare in Shorewood, Summer Celebration, visiting lecturers, and Shorewood Reads.
- Support the library’s regionally renowned Early Literacy Center.
