Read Woke
The Shorewood Public Library invites you to expand your horizons through our virtual Read Woke Challenge. Read Woke asks readers to challenge social norms by reading books that give voice to the voiceless, by learning more about people and groups that have been disenfranchised, challenging the status quo, and following a protagonist from an underrepresented or oppressed group.
The challenge is for all ages – children, teens, and adults. Readers can earn badges for each book that they read and those who complete the challenge will be entered into a raffle for gift cards to local book stores! Read Woke starts on Monday, January 4th , 2021 and will run through August 31, 2021.
