So You Want to Talk About Race: VIRTUAL Book Conversation
Saturday, August 29
11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Location: Virtual
If you identify as white and anywhere on your journey to unlearn racism…
If you are an immigrant (white or POC) and want to better-understand America’s particular brand of anti-Black racism…
If you identify as BIPOC and want to add to your personal understanding of racism, contribute your experiences, or just hear from white people on their journey to unlearn racism…
…this book and conversation are for you.
Join us to discuss Ijeoma Oluo’s engaging book, So You Want to Talk About Race, in which she offers guidance on terms and ideas around race and America’s fraught history of racial injustice, and how to talk about race with your family, friends, community and coworkers.
It is highly recommended that you read the book first, but we will also share some excerpts as we chat in order to frame our conversation! We are working to get more copies of this book. Check out an e-book or digital audiobook version from Wisconsin's Digital Library, or a digital audiobook version from hoopla.
This conversation was held virtually.
If you wish to attend in person, there is a limited in-person conversation on Thursday, August 27 at 6:00 p.m.
