Reading Round Up @ Osher

Monday, August 21

10:00 am - 11:15 am

Location: UWM Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

Did you know that hundreds of thousands of books are published annually in the United States? That's a lot. We've all heard of James Patterson, Louise Penny, and Jodi Picoult, but what about authors like Olga Tokarczuk, Anton Treuer, and Kali Fajardo-Anstine? Librarian Hayley Johnson will share tips and tricks on how to seek out new titles and authors. She will share book suggestions, including books written by international authors, regional authors, and multicultural authors. The discussion will focus primarily on fictional titles, and it will touch on a variety of formats like audiobooks, e-books, and graphic novels.

Hayley Johnson is the Community and Adult Services Librarian at the Shorewood Public Library. She selects and maintains the adult fiction collection, including large print, audiobooks, and Lucky Day titles. Hayley also is responsible for adult programming, including hosting a variety of speakers and events. She also facilitates the Shorewood Public Library's two book clubs.

This program will be held at the UWM Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (3271 North Lake Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53211).
