Georgia O'Keeffe: Matron Saint of the Brush

Monday, December 1

6:00 pm

Location: Shorewood Village Center

In this art history lecture from Cornerstone History Symposium, attendees will learn how Wisconsin native Georgia O'Keeffe devoted her life to her art. Her signature style was to make abstracts out of nature, encouraging viewers to spend more time taking a very close look at hidden details all around us. O'Keeffe found herself energized particularly by bones, trees, flowers, and the sky.

*There will also be an opportunity for three lucky attendees to win a ticket for free admission to the Milwaukee Art Museum. Winners will be announced after the lecture. Good luck!

Professor Karri L. Fritz-Klaus has worked within the Smithsonian Institution and the Museum of African Art. She is a strong believer in the enrichment of our lives through exposure to the arts, history, and literature. In pursuit of those passions, Karri has been lecturing on various artists and artistic movements for several years, offering both symposiums as well as individual topics of interest. Like the culture of art, Karri's offerings are ever-growing.

*Tickets expire on February 28th, 2026
