Know Your Body 101
Wednesday, May 27
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Location: Library Program Room
Ever wonder what’s really going on beneath your skin? In this tour of the human body, we’ll peel back the layers. From bones to brains, muscles to mitochondria, this all-ages course will reveal the hidden architecture that keeps you standing, breathing, thinking, and moving. Part science, part art, and 100% fascinating, “Know Your Body 101” is your front-row seat to the most complex machine you’ll ever inhabit.
This month's session takes a guided tour through all 11 of the body's organ systems — exploring their key organs and tissue pathways, their primary and secondary functions, and what makes each one essential to life. Open to all ages and completely family friendly, this is a no-pressure, come-as-you-are experience. No homework, no quizzes — just curiosity welcome!
As always, expect some surprising fun facts, practical health hacks, and a chance to ask your burning questions.
This course is taught by EMILY KLIK, LMT, CST. Emily's anatomical learning path started before she could walk. Her father was a high school science teacher, and science class was always in session, even at home. His early instruction inspired a lifetime of curiosity about how we work, inside out. Over the past 23 years, Emily has applied this knowledge as a bodyworker, specializing in releasing migraines and TMJ issues, and working on many other conditions and sources of pain in our human bodies.
