The Art & Culture of Henna: Tradition, History, and Hands-On Experience

Thursday, May 28

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Location: Shorewood Village Center

This interactive program begins with a brief discussion about the origins, cultural significance, and evolution of henna across South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Attendees will learn about traditional symbolism, application techniques, and modern adaptations.

*After the presentation, you can receive a small henna design! To guarantee your spot, register by calling the library at (414) 847-2670, or by visiting an Information Desk. Any remaining opportunities will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.

Henna is a natural plant-based stain, typically lasting 7-10 days. If you have known allergies to henna or sensitive skin conditions, please avoid receiving a design. Aftercare instructions will be provided to help achieve the best stain results.
