10 Things You Didn't Know About Jane Austen

How well do you know Jane Austen? Did you know she had a connection to royalty? Or that she that was a prolific letter writer and a terrible speller? This presentation from Merri Cvetan will reveal some of the important moments in Jane’s life that took her on her journey to becoming one of the most celebrated authors of all time.

Merri Cvetan is an Interior Designer and former Adjunct at Mount Mary University in the Interior Architecture and Design program. Her specialty is historic restoration and preservation. Merri has worked on many historic homes and house museums in Wisconsin including her own 1880s farmhouse. In addition to design projects, Merri also worked as a stylist on photo shoots and commercials, appeared on local television programs in Chicago and Milwaukee, wrote DIY articles and created hundreds of costumes for various fashion shows and programs. Her lifelong love of architectural and fashion history has led her to Jane Austen. She currently serves as the Membership Secretary for JASNA - Wisconsin.
