Dr. Evrim Güngör is an associate professor, mosaic artist, and community educator based in Wisconsin. She learned mosaic art in Ankara, Türkiye, in the historic Ankara Castle district, an area known for its old stone streets, traditional workshops, and layered cultural history. Learning mosaic in such a historic setting deeply influenced the way she sees the art form. For Evrim, mosaic is more than decoration. She sees it as a reflection of community: many different pieces, each with its own color, shape, and character, come together to create something larger and more meaningful. Her work is inspired by Anatolian and Middle Eastern visual traditions, as well as the idea that art can connect people across backgrounds and generations. Through her workshops, she enjoys creating welcoming spaces where participants can slow down, work with their hands, explore their creativity, and experience the joy of making something together.
This workshop is intended for ages 18+
