Library Access for Homebound Shorewood Residents

The Shorewood Public Library collection is intended to be available to all Shorewood residents even those who are unable to visit the library building. In addition to the physical collection, the library has an ever growing digital collection that may be accessed from home by anyone with appropriate hardware, software and connectivity.

Eligibility

Shorewood residents who are unable to visit the library due to a physical limitation or by physician's orders are eligible to participate in the program. Residents must have a valid Milwaukee County Federated Library System library card, which will be used to check out materials.

Participants may identify a family member or friend who will be responsible for pick up, delivery and return of library materials, or the library can arrange for a volunteer to serve in this capacity.

Only books and audiobooks owned by the Shorewood Public Library are available to be lent to homebound patrons, and they will be checked out for six weeks. Overdue fines will not be charged to participants, however, repeated return of overdue items may result in a loss of access to this service.
