Curbside & Online Library Service - Beginning November 25

Posted Nov 19, 2020

On Wednesday, November 25, we will begin offering curbside service only.

How long will this be for?

We do not know at this time how long we will be unable to have the public inside the library. We are following guidance from the North Shore Health Department, who has indicated that given the transmission rate and critical COVID burden in Shorewood and surrounding communities, it is no longer safe to be open to the public.

Can I get stuff from other libraries?

Yes. Curbside service will look a little different than it did in the spring because you'll be able to place requests for material like normal - via CountyCat online, using the CountyCat app, or calling a librarian for assistance.

We'll continue to get daily delivery from across Milwaukee County so your holds will be filled as efficiently as possible.

What else can I do curbside?

We are also working hard to meet as many needs as we can. We're exploring offering photocopying, printing, "personal browser" and other services that help you access what is inside the library without actually coming inside. Stay in touch with us to find out how you can access what you need.

What about when it's snowy and cold?

As winter sets in, we will relocate the curbside cart inside the lobby. We'll also offer contactless "carside" drop off of your items, and will take returns from you if you can't access the book drop easily due to the weather.

What should I do with the items I have at home already?

You should continue to return & renew items like normal! Contact us for any of your library needs.

Please reach out to us if you have further questions! Call 414-847-2670 or email shorewood@mcfls.org
